How Long Does Training Take For Jype

Glaucus atlanticus

Glaucus atlanticus

Incredibly, this beautiful animal is real. This is such a small nudibranch mollusc (with naked gills). It spends its life floating in the sea by an air bag you have in your stomach. When not swimming, is subject to ocean currents, and sometimes displayed on the beach. It measures about 4 inches.

Feeds-called "Portuguese caravels" (Physalia physalis), colonies of polyps that look like jellyfish, which are very poisonous. Is immune to their venom.

Fact: the Portuguese caravels also known as jellyfish. Their sting is very painful and can be fatal. Contain venendo in cells called nematocysts, which are found in the tentacles.

In this photo we see a Glaucus feeding on a Portuguese caravel. As shown in the picture is much like a jellyfish.

Apparently Glaucus not only feeds them, but that takes away the nematocysts and keeps the ends of their appendages, such as silk fan. Therefore, this animal, although it is really beautiful, is also very poisonous, so which serves as a defense.
